Ballet-Inspired Workout
Wednesday: 7:00 pm – 7:45 pm Through extensive stretching, bar and mat work, these classes promise the sylphlike physique and defined musculature of a dancer without the rigorous training prescribed by classical ballet. This workout consists of targeted and toning floor barre exercises and mat work, ballet barre exercises and low impact ballet cardio, done to music. This practice shapes long, lean ballet muscles in the legs, arms, butt, core and upper body while increasing flexibility and improving posture. Most importantly, it is fun! Ballroom & Latin Dance Workout Monday & Thursday: 7:00 pm – 7:45 pm This is a non-stop, cardio-intense dance class where dance routine meets cardio and fitness benefits. One of the best things about dance fitness classes is that they're accessible to almost all fitness levels. While faster dances such as Cha Cha, Samba, Swing, focus on cardiovascular exercise, the slower pace of Waltz & Rumba work to improve balance, coordination, core strength, and flexibility while also enhancing the strength of smaller, stabilizing muscles. No prior dance experience is necessary, all levels of fitness are welcome and encouraged. Attire: We recommend to wear modest street clothes or athletic attire that you're comfortable moving in. It should be something relatively form-fitting since it's helpful for ensuring correct movement and body alignment. Athletic shoes or keds will work fine.
